Multigenerational learning

Northcare, who have just built a care home at the bottom of the road, have invited us to take part in a multigenerational learning activity.  This would consist of a small group of children – maybe 6 of our pre-schoolers to start with, going along to Northcare and taking part in some activities with the residents.  This might be craft, puzzles – they’ve even go a cinema!  In order to facilitate this, I’d need some volunteer helpers.  You’d need to be able to commit to either a full morning or afternoon each week for 6 weeks or so.  You would go along to the carehome with a member of staff and the children, support the activities, and help ensure the safety of the wee ones as we walk to and from.  If you can help with this please let me know.

This is a real learning opportunity for both the children and the residents of the care home – they would all get so much from this experience.  Go to Youtube and watch the clips from ‘old peoples home for four year olds’.  You’ll see just how rich an experience this can be.  Please let me know if you can help as this is something we’d really like to pursue.

If you need more information about anything above, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
