Term 3 Newsletter, May 2025
Tuesday 22 April: Pre-School Eye Test
If your child is leaving us for P1 this year, and hasn’t already had their vision screening, you should have received a permission slip. Please make sure this is returned to us ahead of the optician visiting nursery.
Wednesday 23 April: Coffee Morning
Join us in the small hall for a cuppa, meet other parents and have a look at your childs folder. We hope to see you there.
Monday 28 April: Photos
Stark Photography will be in nursery taking both individual and group pictures during the AM session. If you don’t usually come in on a Monday but you’d like your childs picture taken, please let me know and we can organise that for you.
Wednesday 30 April: Sports Day
You’re invited back to the big hall at 2pm to cheer the children on in our Sports Day! We hope you can make it!
Monday 5 and Tuesday 6 May – May Day holidays
Nursery will be closed and will reopen on the Wednesday.
Friday 23rd and Monday 26 May
Nursery is closed for a long weekend and will reopen on the Tuesday.
Week beginning 27 May: Parent appointments
You’ll have the opportunity to discuss your wee ones end of term progress report with their Key worker. More information nearer the time. Each group will have an allotted morning, but don’t worry if it doesn’t suit – we’ll fit you in somewhere!
Week beginning Monday 9 June: Bring a special person to Nursery week
Your child will be able to invite a special person to join them at nursery for an hour or so. Come in with them, enjoy welcome time and stay for snack. It’s nice opportunity for you to see what goes on in the setting, and your child will enjoy showing you their favourite toys and introducing you to their friends. If you think this will unsettle your child – maybe they’ll expect you to come to nursery every day – we’d encourage you to leave this till next year. You’ll know them best. I’ll get names of those planning to attend nearer the time.
Square group – you’re invited on Monday 9th June. Diamonds – you’re invited on the Tuesday. Triangles on the Thursday and Circles on the Friday. If you can’t make your allotted day, let me know and we’ll see if we can squeeze you in on a day that suits.
Tuesday 24 June: End of term party, AM session
All are invited to our end of term celebrations. As usual, if a Tuesday is not your usual day but you’d like your child to attend, just let me know in advance so I can ensure my adult: child ratios are maintained.
Wednesday 25 June: Graduation
Please join us at 2pm to help us see our leavers off to school! This is always an emotional time of year as we say goodbye to some of our families. You’re very welcome to come along and give them a good send off.
Nursery will then close at 2.30pm and not reopen until Wednesday 13 of August.
End of term Event: To Be Confirmed
Our parent committee are organising an end of term event too. As soon as the details have been confirmed I’ll let you all know.
Outward Bound
Some of the older children will be able to take part in weekly outings to the woods at the local park. Permission slips will be forthcoming for those taking part.
